The alsatian "road-show" landed in Oslo on January 28th 2010. Here are som thoughts after the tasting. On September 29th 2009 the 58th weinversteigerung for Nahe and Ahr (with Pfalz and Rheinhessen) took place in Bad Kreuznach. The tasting showed that 2008 was a very nice vintage for especially Nahe, but also Pfalz and Rheinhessen. Definitely a far better vintage than for Mosel. Read the notes here. Here are the notes from the tasting at Martin Müllen in September-2009. We tasted wines from the 2008-vintage and ended with some older wines back to 1992. The day after VdP we go to the Klitzekleine ring for the annual taste of the winelife in and around Traben-Trarbach. Read the notes here. At last, here are the notes from the VdP Grosser ring-auction in Trier in September-2009. The auction displayed mostly wines from the 2008-vintage. Due to the difficulties in this vintage in Mosel, there were fewer than normal wines this year. No wines above auslese in this vintage. Read the notes here. Here are some short comments on wines that you should look out for. On Monday 30th of September 2008 we visited Martin Müllen for a tasting of the 2007-vintage. We mostly focused on the Trarbacher Hühnerberg and the Kröver Paradies. Read the notes here. The 57th weinversteigerung in Bad Kreuznach displayed wines from Nahe, Ahr, Pfalz and Rheinhessen. Read the notes from the auction here. Next up is the yearly tasting at Daniel Vollenweider in Traben-Trarbach where we tasted through the 2007-vintage. Also included were a couple of wines from his frinds. Read the notes here. So we are back again in the Mosel once more. On the first day we went with Karlheinz (Charlie) Gierling to Jos Chrisoffel Jr. to taste the wines from the '07-vintage and, as it turned out, a lot of older wines also. Here are the notes. Last visit in Franken was in the western part. We stopped in Bürgstadt and visited Rudolf Fürst, the best producer of wines from this area that makes mostly red wines. Read the notes from the tasting here. The next stop was in Randersacker at a small family-run company with a name well-known for almost a 100 years. In September 2008 we also took the time for a week-long visit to the region of Franken. On the first stop in Iphofen we visited Hans Wirsching. A winemaker whose wines we admire. So it was time for an in-depth tasting of mostly the very good 2007-vintage. Read more here. On October 6th Roberto Anselmi visited Oslo for a brief presentation of some of his wines. Here are our impressions. The VdP Grosser ring weinversteigerung took place in Trier on September 26th 2008. Again small lots of special selected cuvees were to be sold for very high prices. We were there and here are our notes of the wines that were present at the auction. In January Jean Sebastian Marionnet from Herny Marionnet/Domaine de la Charmoise visited Oslo for a short tasting.
