Blue grape that is a barbera x nebbiolo-crossing. Not grown
commercially, but has a certain reputation. Crossing made by
Giovanni Dalmasso and there are reputed attempts for
commercial growing. Amongst others Tenuta Cannona, Fontanafredda
and Prunotto are testing the grape.
Albarossa is said to have a barbera-like fruitiness, but with
more structure and tannins.
