Tasting notes

Dark red colour, very little browning here. Intence and complex smell of leather, wood, spices, cherries, almonds, and after some airing there was also hints of minerals, dried fruits and even stable. Huge concentration in the mouth. Really packed with fruit, also the wine is packed with high fruit-acidity. I have never earlier tasted such a structured amarone. Also great tannic structure in the back. The fruitiness in the mouth is not so much evolved as in the nose. But really nice notes of sweet cherries and minerals. The tannins in the back still closes a bit of the length. This wine has no problem of balancing it's 15,5% alcohol. Drinks very well now but could be even better in another couple of years. The wine is made in the traditional style and is one of the very best amarones I have ever tasted. The structure and the high acidity surprised me. This makes the wine a bit more food-friendly than many other amarones. But it has such a huge concentration. A real surprise and a trememdous wine.
I have tried to find some information about this, to me unknown, producer but without any luck. The label says that the producer is situated in Fumane and the name of the firm is azienda agricola Conati di Marco Conati. If someone else have ever come across this producer I would be happy to now any details.
