This was a very typical Poulsard. More good than great. Pure, but not very deep. Very light red-brown colour. Transparent. Fine and
fragrant nose. Hints of strawberries, perfume, tar and leather. Not very intense. Light and typical Poulsard in the mouth. Shows good
structure, but little fruit. Still fine fruit. Flowery and hints of tar. Perhaps a little rubbery. Good acidity and a little tannic
bite in the finish.
Arnt Egil Nordlien Tasting note: April-07
This was better than the previous bottle with a more intense and perfumed nose. Light brownish-red colour. Some red hues, but mostly
brownish by now. Fine nose. Perfumed. At first this shows mostly high-notes of dried flowers. Touch of anise. With some air some
low-notes of earth and tar also appears. Fine and typical Poulsard in the mouth. Light with a fragile and perfumed fruit. Lot of
dried flowers, tar and earth. With air also a hint of tobacco. Highly traditional style. Fine acidity and a careful tannic bite in
the back. Good structure. Seems mature now. Medium length. Good traditional poulsard which I like very much.
