Aging a red Arbois might not seem like a very good idea, but after being impressed with Loye’s 79 chardonnay I had to try this. Well
the colour was very light indeed. It had a transparent brick-red colour. The nose showed distinct aromas of ”bottle-age”. Quite
complex and surprisingly tarry. Light minerals and wood. Very light in the mouth. This has a certain elegance and is backed up by a
high acidity and no tannins left in the back. But the fruit is very mature and the wine is lacking fruit-concentration.
Interesting and still very drinkable, but a bit lacking.
