Hand-numbered half-bottle 151/330. This is a white passito from the blue brachetto-grape. There is a story of this brachetto when
Giovanni Ivaldi's grandfather was dying in the mid 1950's, he asked the family to bring a glass of the 1864 Brachetto passito to him
from the cellar. The family said that he would be better with a cup of camomille-tea. With some arguments they decided to have the
brachetto first and then the tea. The brachetto was brought and the grandfather drank the glass and died with a smile on his face. No
time for tea (Story from Nicolas Belfrage; Barolo to Valpolicella). The 1991-vintage had a deep brown colour with a lightly greenish
rim. Slightly woody nose with hints of caramel, raisins and botrytis. Powerful and sweet entrance, slighty rustic woody and caramelly
fruit. Slightly floral hints and a long citrusy finish from the good acids. Noticable high alcohol (15,5%). A good wine that probably
needs some more time to gain complexity. The structure is good for aging. But the alcohol is a bit high in the balance.
