This is a controversial Barbaresco. It is traditionally made, except for the obvious high ripeness in the fruit. And with the long
maceration Natale Simonetta makes his most personal style of Barbaresco. Deep red colour. Nose shows a lot of ripe dark berries.
A bit sweet, but also fine hints of tar and anise. Fullbodied Barbaresco in the mouth. Packed with sweet concentrated fruit, which
makes the entry a bit soft. But the finish tightens the wine up with loads of tannins and balances well. Acids are medium high. Good
length. Very fine Barbaresco for the price. Will drink well early, but will be interesting to follow 10-15 years.
Arnt Egil Nordlien Tasting note: April-07
Dark red colour. Surprisingly dark for nebbiolo. Some bricking. The nose shows a lot of fruit. A touch on the ripe side. Yet it
shows a lot of typicity. Hints of dark cherries, tar, smoke. Shows some development. Juicy and fullbodied Barbaresco in the mouth.
Again this shows some ripeness. Lots of fruit. Dark cherry-notes. Tar and smoke. The evolvement is positive and this is gaining in
depth and complexity. Still this is a soft barbaresco with medium acidity. Tannic end. Some sweet tannins and also sweetness from
the alcohol on the finish. Very good. It has moved positively. Still needs to lose some more fatness.
