This had a brick-red colour. Deep core. Intence and very fine nose, quite elegant and leathery which I find so typical of old style Prunotto. Hints of tar, anise, cherries and very fine floral high notes. Powerful and concentrated in the mouth, almost a touch fatness shows the good concentration this year gave. Unfortunately many of the 67’s aged quickly and are already too old. Not this wine. Acids are not the highest but the tannic kick gives an impressive structure and this must be one of the most ageworthy Langhe-wines I have tasted from the 67-vintage. A Barolo in disguise. Tremendous wine and still a long life ahead.
