Tasting notes

A "barbera-cru" that early was regared as one of the best non-barriqued barberas around, in a time when barbera and barriques was the hottest thing to make in the Piedmont. The wine comes from old vines in the vineyard "il Bergantino". This fine producer is today most known for making the best grignolino around.
Deep red colour. No bricking. Fine, but a little shy nose. Hints of cherry-stones, minerals and fine high notes of truffles and roses. Good body. Fruity styled wine. Hints again of cherry-stones and very fine floral hints. Some leather and truffles. But not complex. High and cleansing acids. Little tannins. Well balanced. Fine aged barbera that impress with it's floral depth both on the nose and palate. There is nothing more to gain from aging and the fruit seems to be fading, so drink up.
