The wine was put in a barolo-decanter about 2,5 hours prior to serving. There was great amounts of sediment in the bottle. At the table this wine had a brick-red colour. Browning edge, quite red at the core. Tremendous complex and intence nose. Multi-layered, minerals and dried roses at the top. Then cherries, hazelnuts, leather, anis and light tar at the bottom. Good power in the mouth. Full of life. Mature and concentrated fruit. Anorectic down to the pure minerals, build with anise and leathery fatness of the fruit around. A perfect balancing act with high lingering acids and a good dose of tannins at the end. Long finish with anise notes in the aftertaste. A true winemaking heritage of the old school. Wine does not get much better than this.
