Great looking bottle with fill almost to the cork. Very fine cork. I would guess this is bottled at least 8-10 years later than the
vintage. Brown/red colour. Quite deep but very browning. The bottle was opened 40 minutes before dinner. When we sat down the wine
showed a nose of mostly tar, leather and wood. After another 30 minutes in the decanter it showed more complexity with hints of
spices, roses, nuts and raisins. Good body in the mouth with much fruit. No oxidation. Typical old school barolo tar and roses with
old wood notes and some cherries and anise. And again some raisins (not unpleasent), I guess this must have been a very hot year
(13,5% alc). Some bitter-almonds in the long finish. Mature tannins in the back and high acidity balances the wine well. Long long
taste. A very good and old barolo that still carries a lot of fruit.
