Very nice looking bottle with a good fill. The cork was very wet and not possible to get out without breaking. But there was no
signs of oxidation. The wine was decanted a couple of hours before serving. The colour was quite deep for a nebbiolo at this age.
Deep brick with a browning rim. The nose was at first fillled with tar and tobacco. With some airing it gained with a anisy and old
wood complexity. Only slight hint of roses. It the mouth it is full bodied with still very good concentration of mature fruit. Tar
and anise. Some cherries in the finish. High acidity and medium content of tannins for a Barolo. A tremendous and highly concentrated
wine with a lot of life. It was blended from five different vineyards, amongst them were Cannubi and San Lorenzo and the fruit did
remind me a bit of the Barolo from Bartolo Mascarello.
