This was a typical '74 Barolo with it's weaker structure. Still it shows some of the typical clear and acidic style of Scarpa.
Brown-red colour. Browning rim. Great floral nose. Typical with hints of cherries and citrus. Some liqourice, tar and leather. Very
fine high notes. Medium bodied Barolo in the mouth. Medium concentration. The fruit here is very mature and probably starting to fade.
Still it is quite fruity with some complex notes of tar and liquorice. The structure shows a good acidity and medium tannins in the
finish. Not the most structured Scarpa. Good length. Still a very fine bottle of Barolo. But drink now.
