Deep brick-red colour. Deep for a Barolo. Much low-notes on the nose. Wet earth, asphalt. Touch florality, but little high-notes.
Also some greenness and unpleasant notes of wet dog. This disappears somewhat over time. Medium bodied Barolo in the mouth. Lots of
fruit for a ’79. But it seems rather unfocused. Earthy, dark notes. Some sour-cherries. Some bitter green notes that follow
through the wine all the way to the finish. Good acidity. Acid-driven Barolo. Medium tannic end. Quite rustic and grainy
tanninstructure. Drinkable, but disappointing for producer and wine.

'79 Barale
Hi,
I had this wine 2 or 3 years ago and it was very nice. Lots of complexity and sweetness.
Thanks

Thanks Fraser. Nice to hear that there are better bottles of this out there.
