Casavecchia 2001, Caputo |
The dark blue Casavecchia-grape has received an increasing
attention after it recently was saved from a possible
extinction. The grapes gives wine of very good quality.
Powerful, spicy and structured. It says to be of old
campanian origins. It should also be related to the grape
named as Trebulano as noted by Pliny.
There has also been rumors of relations with aglianico, which
now seems to be rejected.
