Tasting notes

This is from Egon Müllers estate in Slovakia and there are something in this wine that reminds me of Mosel. It is a very well made wine, complex and deep. Great QPR. Deep yellow colour. The nose is complex and typical of the grape with hints of honey, petrol, botrytis. Some citrus. Fullbodied and sweet riesling in the mouth. Auslese-style. Quite elegant and a Mosel-like elegance. Still with more fat and concentration and the 12% alcohol makes it very different. Complex and fine fruit, drinking well now, but lacking that slatey intensity of Germany. Fine acidity, but medium for this grape. Good length with some citrus in the finish. Good now, but can age.

From a tasting. Deep yellow colour. Botrytised nose with hints of honey and smoke. Rich and sweet wine in the mouth. Still quite elegant feel. Smokey, citrusy fruit with honeyed notes and some botrytis. A little simple and not the deepest. Fine acidity and long taste. Well-made wine that lacks a little bit minerality. Very good.
