This was the beige label and not the Oro. Bottle looked very good with nice fill. Cork would not come out with a screwpull, so used
a two-winged cheap italian corkscrew (that actually works much better than screwpull on old bottles) and the cork came out in one
piece. The colour was brick-red. Quite deep and with a brown rim. Nose was very nice indeed. Floral, mineral and more feminin than
I have found in Chianti before. With deep cherry-scented fruit and slightly leathery edge to it. In the mouth this was a medium
bodied and mature wine. Still decent concentration of mature fruit. More nutty and leathery than the nose. Complex. Good acids and
light and ripe tannins. It was slightly drying out at the finish, showing it's age. But this disappeared somewhat with the food.
Very good wine, which will be remembered for the nose.
