Croatina is a much used blue blending-grape in the Novara-Vercelli, in parts of Lombardy and in Emilia-Romagna. In the rare Cisterna d'Asti the grape gives varietal-wines. It may theoretically also be the main ingredient in a Oltrepo Pavese DOC rosso. The grape gives good colours and much tannins.
