From a good cellar comes this old auction-riesling from the once so very famous vineyard Marcobrunn in Erbach. Amber towards brownish
colour. Pretty and complex old riesling-nose. Shows some caramel (oxidised sugar-character), lots of faded flowers, citrus and
minerality. Quite slim and acidic riesling in the mouth. Light and faded sweetness. Citrusy fruit. Some faded flowers and forest
floor-notes, some caramel. Fine and with nice depth. Good acidity as most '69's have. Good length. Held up nicely with air. The last
glass was the best. Very good wine.
The label on this bottle says kabinett (spelled in the post-71-wine-law-meaning) and not Cabinet (in the pre-71 meaning).
Which is strange. My guess is this bottle was sold at auction after 1971 and then in the context of the post-71 meaning of kabinett.
