Not any unknown grape, as it has a certain reputation, but
still not much is grown of this green grape. It has it's
origins in the north-western corner of Piedmont, where it
gives dry wines high in acid in Caluso and great passito-wines
which can last a very long time under the same name.
Recently allowed also under a couple of other nearby
appelations.
In the Novara-Vercelli the grape is found under the name
greco novarese, which is a grape the romans brought with
them. Brand new science show that the DNA of this grape is
identical to the greco di Tufo.
