Brick-red colour. The nose shows a classic Rioja but lacks a little intensity. Hints of stable, red berries, old wood, some
herbaciousness. Evolved and complex with a light sweetness. Medium bodied Rioja in the mouth. Mature and again very obvious
Rioja-style. A little more fruity than the nose with hints of old wood, coffee. Complex, but again not the most intense wine. Decent
acidity and the finish still shows some tannins making it quite dry and long. A nice Rioja that seems to be full of life, but would
have been even better with a little more intensity in the fruit. Is this a sign of decline or will it develop more?
Arnt Egil Nordlien Tasting note: June-09
Brick-red colour. The nose shows some oxidation with hints of raisins and prunes. Also florality, anise and dill. Medium bodied Rioja
in the mouth. Mature fruit with medium concentration. Mature and not perfect with some oxidation-damages. But it also shows some fine
florality, leather and anise. Dill-notes from american oak-barrels on the finish. Fine acids. Lightly bitterness on the finish. Still
alive, but a faulty bottle.
