Tasting notes

Brick red colour. Slightly browning at the rim. Great smell of wet forest, viols and some cherries. Quite nebbiolo-like. Good body in the mouth. Nice and mature fruitiness. Complex wine with high acidity and light tannins in the long finish. Lighter styled wine than a nebbiolo but with similar flavours. Great food-wine and a tremendous QPR at the US$14 i paid.

Deep brick colour. Fine and complex nose of anise, roses and acidic red berries. Fine high notes. Medium bodied and concentration in the mouth. Mature wine with the fruit starting to fade a little. Fine complexity with notes of smoke, anise, roses. Fine acids and light tannins in the back. Still very fine, but this showed more fruit last time. Drink up.

One forgotten bottle of this was left. Brick-red colour. Fine nose with evolved aromas of mushrooms, autumn-leafs, acidic red berries. Slight floral high-notes. Medium bodied Freisa in the mouth. Acidic and quite slim wine with the fruit starting to fade. What is there is fine with hints of mushrooms, wet forest floor, acidic red berries. Good acidity, but starting to get thin on the finish. Drying out. It was better a few years ago. Drink up.
