This is a rare Vin santo from the Gambellara-district in Veneto. It became a part of the DOC in 1970. It seems to have been produced
without any vintage-dating. This bottle is probably from the early 70’s as it was a 0,72 liter bottle. The fill level was B and the
cork was in pretty bad shape. In the glass the wine has a copper colour. The nose shows dried fruit. Raisiny notes. Old woods.
Some caramel and light citrus-peel. Medium bodied, highly rustic style in the mouth. Drier than expected in the mouth. Sugar rounded
off. Lots of glycerin. Lightly oxidative style. Old-fashioned and rustic fruit. Olts of old woods, raisins. Slight citrus-peel. The fruit seems
to be fading and the wine on the light side. Medium acidity. A dry finish. Fair quality. Needs to be drunk up now.
Arnt Egil Nordlien Tasting note: March-11
