Deep brick-red colour. The nose was very closed at first, but opened up nicely with 2-3 hours of air. Dark and highly masculine
nose. Almost like a Monforte wih hints of dark earth, tar, anise. Some aged complexity. In the mouth it is a highly structured nebbiolo,
and more in an acidic way. Mature fruit, but still lots of life. Quite transparent and clear style. Again dark and masculine fruit.
High acidity. Refreshing finish and also a dry tannic end. Long taste. Very good Gattinara that could have used a tad more complexity
in the fruit.
