Tasting notes

Deep amber colour. Almost greenish hues. Very pretty and evolved Riesling-notes on the nose. Dried flowers, minerality, smoke, slate. Sweet and with a touch of botrytis. Powerful and sweet auslese in the mouth. Very big ’71 auslese that is closer to a beerenauslese in style. Fatness and obviously high Oechsle-weight. But transparent and very pretty fruit. Lots of dried flowers, smoke, minerality. Complex and a huge depth. Citrus-notes on the finish. Fine acidity and length. This is really a great wine that shows a Rheingauish typicity. But a surprisingly big ’71.
