On most maps Saar seems to stop at Serrig. Well it doesn't.
This wine comes from Kastel-Staadt on the other side of the
river and behind the Kastel Klause for those who have been
in Serrig.
The wine has a yellow colour with green hints. Sweet
flowery nose with hints of petrol and honey. Sweet entrance
in the mouth. Not very powerful for an auslese. Balancing
acids leaves anotes of lemons and apple-peal in the finish.
Quite acidic finish. The fruit is flowery and simple. Lacks
any mineral depth. Needs food. Perhaps a bit too young, but
this will never be great.
