Tasting notes

This is a very weird wine, that may be off-putting to many. But it is a very intelletual experience and a highly interesting wine. It is mineral and shows a lot of terroir-character of the Etna. Transparent colour. At first brown-black. With air it turns more red-black. The nose shows a lot of VA at first and I am afraid it is a bad bottle. But with air, more and more fruit and minerality grows in the nose. With an hour of air this shows a beautiful nose of ash, minerality, red fruits and anise. Hints of oxydation. Also some fine high notes. Fullbodied wine in the mouth. Good concentration. Fruit is more smokey and shows a lot of ash. Terroir-driven. Good acidity and some tannins in the back. Fine length. Good food-wine. Great wine, but the price is huge.
