Tasting notes

Copper colour. Very dark for a riesling with a reddish tone in it. Sweet nose. Flowery, earthy. Hints of camphore, slate and minerality. Sweetish and very powerful auslese in the mouth. Quite violent auslese - especially for this vintage. A lot of sweetish flowery notes in the fruit, some earth, but quite clear and with fine minerality. Lightly hints of old woods. Much fruit and a slight depth. But more powerful than deep wine. Fine acidity and a citrusy finish. Lots of life in this powerful beast of a wine. It could use a little more refinement. This will last at least another 20-30 years. Very good.
