This wine was always considered one of the best from the Gattinara-zone.
But the producer did not use the name Gattinara on the label
until the 74-vintage. Selling the wines more on the name
Monsecco. The name tells about the regions close relationship
to France. Mon sec vin or my dry wine as it is simply
named.
Tasting notes
Transparent brick-red colour with browning rim. A bit shy nose
with some roses, cherries and tar. Medium bodied and mature
wine in the mouth. A bit shallow, lacking fruit. But what is
there is fine. Showing some cherries, some roses. Decent
acids, still tannic end. A little too old.

Light brick-red colour, red core, browning rim. Typical
and healthy nebbiolo-colour. Fine, complex and transparent
nebbiolo nose. Hints of anise, tar, fine floral high notes of
roses. Typical Gattinara. Full-bodied. Good concentration.
Transparent, clean fruit. Tar, anise, cherries and roses.
Good acids and still a good bite of tannins in the back.
Long taste. A very good wine indeed and far better than the
previous bottle.

Transparent Onionskin-coloured wine with yellow rim. Very light. Fine noses with loads of high notes; roses, red fruits, some
old wood. Not very intence and lacking in low notes. Light in the mouth. Mature. But fine fruit with roses and red fruits; currants.
Good acidic backbone and just a little bit of tannins left. Fine length. This is very fine and probably the best of these bottles. But it
needs to be drunk now. Very good.
