Tasting notes

A close to 40 years old nebbiolo from a Roero-vineyard proved to have aged very nicely. Not as powerful as it's more famous neighbours in the Langhe, but strangely showed more fruit than Prunotto's Barolo Serralunga Riserva 1967.
Light brick colour. Red core, orange-brownish rim. Healthy nebbiolo-colour. Nice and complex nose, mostly tar, leather, earth and anise. Lacking the roses. Medium bodied in the mouth. Good concentration, lots of fruit. Quite earthy, tarry style. High acids and medium tannic for this grape.
