Deep yellow colour. Evolved nose. Complex and fine depth. Dried flowers, slate, citrus – towards orange – quite ripe. Acidic and
lightly sweet spätlese in the mouth. The acidity is striking and gives the wine a fresh almost raw mouthfeel. Highly structured.
The fruit seems quite ripe as a contrast to the cooler structure. There is some fine depth here. Lots of slate-notes, citrus,
mineral, dried flowers. Quite mature. This is moving towards tertiary notes. Some forest-floor. Long and citrusy finish. The
acidity seems to be taking over and the fruit seems ready. A very good bottle that performed better than one hear. I would suggest
drinking in the near future.

Interesting
I do not often see notes on older wines from Weingut Herm.Donnhoff - would you recommend to store his wines? I consider Donnhoff one of the best producers to drink as young as possible!

Age
Aging Donnhoff is a little tricky. Not that the wines turn out poorly, but Donnhoffs wines are even better when very young. They have an unbelieveable razaorsharp focus. That said this bottle had aged better than what one hears. Many speaks quite negatively about this. But the '90 Brucke was better.
But to your question. I prefer them young also, so yes I drink most of mine in the young stage.
