Tasting notes

From a magnum had over 5 days. This seemed younger than I expected. Even taking the magnum-bottle into consideration. It was very fine and racy riesling showing what a great site the Hermannshöhle is. This bottle needs at least 3-4 more years. Greenish/straw colour. Beautiful and very racy nose. Mineral, slatey, with fine hints of underripe flowers. Crystal clear and razor-sharp focus. With air it shows more citrus and also sweeter fruits. Fullbodied spätlese in the mouth. Sweet, but slim and refreshing style. Again fine minerality and a lot of slate. Over the days it shows more of the fruit, but also less complexity and minerality. The acidity is very crisp and tight, giving the wine a fine grip. Some citrus in the finish. Good length.
