Brown/amber colour. Complex nose. Lightly earthy with a good dose of botrytis for this vintage. Some floral notes and honey. Some
wet forest floor. Powerful and sweet '71 auslese in the mouth. Bigger than expected, but also quite a rustic effort. More earth and
botrytis obvious in the mouth. Some minerality and depth. Good acidity and length. This is a nice wine, but quite atypical for a
'71. It is bigger and lacks refinement and focus in the fruit. Not up to Norbert Esers version.
