Tasting notes

This was a fine '97 supertuscan made with sangiovese and a small part cabernet sauvignon that dominates partly in the blend. If you like this style you could do a lot worse than drinking this wine. Dark red colour. Fine nose with mature sangiovese-notes of cherries, tobacco, flowers, but also cabernet sauvignon-hints like blackcurrant and some oak. Fullbodied and concentrated wine in the mouth. Much fruit. Dark notes. Blackcurrant and oak. The cabernet-part is taking control in the mouth. Some floral notes. Medium acidity, better than many '97 tuscans. The finish shows quite some tannins and shows that this wine is still on the young side. Impressive structure and a backward '97. Try again in 5 years.
