Ingmar Püschel is a small grower in Mosel. He now has 0,3 hektars of vines in the Kröver Steffensberg. Although he does not make many
bottles yet the wines are of great quality. Classical Mosel-style made in a traditional way with the use of spontaneous fermentation and
old barrels. In the difficult 2008-vintage he made two cuvees that we tasted with him on our visit in Traben-Trarbach in September. We
also re-tasted two cuvees of the 2007-vintage.
Kröver Steffensberg riesling trocken 2008
11,5% alcohol. AP: 2 601 560 01 09. The nose shows classic Steffensberg-notes of flowers and slate. A little yeast and minerality gives depth.Clear and pure dry Riesling in the mouth. Refreshing trocken with a high and cleansing acidity (7,8 g/L). Medium concentrated and slatey fruit. Some flowers. Some minerality. Nice depth. Very good wine.
Kröver Steffensberg riesling spätlese* 2008
7,5% alcohol. AP: 02 09. Pretty nose. Again slatey, flowery with a touch of botrytis and apricot. Quite powerful spa¨tlese in the mouth. Sweetish and with some notes of botrytis. Clear and slatey fruit. Some minerality. Flowers. Fine botrytis. Great balance. Super refreshing acidity and good length. Great spätlese.
Kröver Steffensberg riesling spätlese 2007
The nose is closed and does not shows it’s best this day. Sulphure and stinky. Underneath fine slatey notes. Flowers, citrus. Better in the mouth. A little better concentration and different as this has, most possibly, no botrytis. Fine fruit. More citrus. But it is not showing so much this day. Fine acidity and length. This seems to be a very good wine for the future. Try again in 5 years. Great (?)
Kröver Steffensberg riesling auslese 2007

Clear and transparent. Citrusy, slatey. Fine botrytis. Good acidity and length. Great wine. Really impressive auslese.
