This is a red wine from an obscure DOC in North-Puglia (the most northernly DOC in the region). The wine is 100% montepulciano. It
had a deep red colour. Very nice nose of cherries, earthy minerals, anise and very slight mint. Full-bodied in the mouth and better
structured than I had expected. Good acidity and quite tannic end. Good fruit-concetration and the wine opened up nicely with 1/2
hour of airing. Good length. This was a tremendous QPR. Priced as low-quality Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and better than most.
