Deep blue-red colour. Nose shows dark berries, some sweet vanilla-like note, yeast and citrus. Fullbodied wine in the mouth. Fruity.
Much concentration. Typical nero d'avola. Lot of dark berries, but seems simpler than the Frappato. Also some yeast-notes showing.
A little florality with air. Fine acidity and quite a lot of tannins in the back. Structure seems fine. Young, needs time. Will it
develop?? I think so, but only time will tell.
Arnt Egil Nordlien Tasting note: March-07
This was a typical slightly monolithic nero d'avola, but with fine hints from the soil and again very purely made. Blue-red colour.
Fruity nose. Hints of dark berries, vanilla. With air shows a typical medicinal character and also ash form the soil. Fullbodied
wine in the mouth. Almost fat fruit in the front. Young and concentrated. A little closed at first, but opens up with an hour or two
in the carafe. Shows more minerality. Medium acidity and showing some young tannins in the end. This needs a few more years in the
cellar to develop.
