First of six pristine bottles stored under perfect conditions
I managed to buy. This wine had a deep brick-red colour with
a deep core and a lightly browning rim. Surprisingly dark,
looks much younger. Nice nose of leather, cherries, spices
and a touch of floral notes. Full-bodied and acidic wine in
the mouth. More fruity with hints of cherries. Some leathery
and complex notes. Some tannins in the back. Very good wine,
but not much nebbiolo-like. Also strangely unevolved fruit.
The reputation of these wines as ageworthy are well
justified. I will give the next bottle a little more
aeration-time.

The second bottle was far better than the first. Aired in a
Barolo-decanter for 4 hours. Showing a deep red colour,
still looks much younger than it's age. The nose is very fine indeed,
showing a lot of tobacco and dried roses. Fine high notes.
Complex, some leather. Full-bodied in the mouth, almost some
fatness in the entrance from the fruit-concentration. Here it
also shows a lot of tobacco, perhaps a little more like a
Valtellina, but with fine hints of roses and quite
elegant. Medium acids (perhaps a hot year?) and some
tannins in the back. Fully mature and on top now. Will last. Great wine.
Arnt Egil Nordlien Tasting note: Nov-05
Deep brick red colour. Quite deep for nebbiolo. Fine nose with lots of fruit-notes. Perfume, floral high-notes. Some earthiness. Coffee.
Powerful wine in the mouth with lots of fruit. Some cherries, coffee, earth and fine floral high-notes. Fine acidity and round tannins in
the back. Good length. Another great bottle of this wine. Altough perhaps a tad more on the earthy side. Drinking well now, will last.
