A legendary producer of Valtellina-wines. This is the original Pelizzatti, when the firm still was family-owned. Fine bottle with
high fill. Great cork. Brown-red colour. Looks old, but with a fine red core. The problem with the sforzato-style is that with age
it often shows a lot of oxidation. So does this wine. Typical volatile nose with hints of raisins, some cherries, dried fruits,
earth. Powerful Valtellina in the mouth. Lots of fruit and concentration. Lightly earthy style with again dried, oxidative
fruit-character. Lots of raisins, ripe cherries. Some florality. Medium acids. Lightly drying finish with still some tannins. Fair
enough quality, but volatile style of making.
