Ligurian wine made from a 50/50 blend of pigato and vermentino and bottled as Colline Savonesi IGT. On day 1 this wine did not show
anything at all. Completely dead fruit, with fresh acidity. So I put the cork in and waited until the next day. Then the wine had
opened up. It had a straw/yellow colour. Nose was showing apricot and a nice array of minerals. Not unlike their Pigato Le Petraie.
In the mouth it showed a good body with nice and quite mineral fruit and decent acidity and balance. Nice wine that is often
regarded as the best white from Liguria. IMO not any better than their cheaper Pigato Le Petraie, but would perhaps develop more with
a couple of years cellaring?
